It was a damn hot day in Pretoria, but this particular Tuesday was even hotter.

THE ATTERBURY LAUNCH WAS A TRUE BLUES EXTRAVAGANZA.

Gerald Clark launched his dynamic 4th album in the Atterbury teatre a month ago. It was spectacular. Every seat was filled and the stage was set with the best musicians you can think of – Schalk van der Merwe, Simon Orange, Tim Rankin, Guy Collins, Jaco Mans, Suzi Swanepoel, Stephan van As, Dozi, Emile Swiegers, and Werner van Hoven – each adding their expertise to every note of the AfroBoer & the GoldenGoose.

It was just one of those nights you can't really explain in words, so go to Facebook and check out Gerald Clark's bandpage for some photos.

Making headlines.

WHO IS THE REAL AFROBOER?

Over the weekend Gerald Clark's afro made headlines. He was featured in an article in the Weekend Argus. Check out the article here. In short, the owner of a restaurant called Afro-boer, was unhappy about Clark's 4th album name, AfroBoer & the GoldenGoose, and she threatened legal action.

The article fired-up fans to make their opinion heard. Jaco Brill, a supporter of local music and a writer for SA Music Scene, wrote an open letter to the owner of the restaurant in Pretoria to urge her to rather use this opportunity and invite Gerald to perform at her venue.

Encore Gerald, Encore - The Cape Town Launch was incredible.

It was like we were watching an international act.

The Cape Town leg of the launch brought tears to your eyes, the boogie to your hips, and the blues to your heart. Gerald Clark introduced some of us and reminded others of his raw talent and excellent musical abilities with his new album, AfroBoer & the GoldenGoose.

A picturesque evening on the Blaauwklippen Wine Estate started with a cold breeze and an enthusiast following. Die Biervrou and friends warmed up the crowd with food and wine – you could feel the crowd buzzing in anticipation.

Stuart Cairns, a young comedian with a ginger afro opened the stage with a few jokes - another AfroBoer in the making. Then, the actual man with the Afro stepped onto the stage.

Gerald Clark, supported by a band that is unmistakeably the cream of the crop when it comes to SA musos, fed his audience souls. The show was beyond the local standard. The music had an international sound. It was original, from the heart, and deserved every encore at the end of the evening.

Mars Music SAClemenGold, and Kelfords Motors were proud supporters of the show and local talent.

More to come from this great show soon.

Just one more week 'til the man with the Afro blows you away.

AFROBOER & THE GOLDENGOOSE - 14 NOVEMBER 2015

I cannot tell you how long we've been waiting to hear Gerald Clark's album in full swing. We've been teased over the last few months with little red stars on the nipples of a golden goose, a video taking us to the farm where the guys recorded this album, and now finally the countdown begins.

The AfroBoer & the GoldenGoose promises to be the best we've heard from this man so far – critics agree.

Make sure to catch him live at the album launch on the 14th of November at the Blaauwklippen Wine Farm. It might be one of the last times we she this talented bluesman before waving him off to international waters. Yes, I've said it. This one is going to be big!

Tickets are R80 and you can book yours at diebiervrou@gmail.com

The Gibson USA party.

When I play my Gibson ES335, Life becomes softer and it feels like I’m floating through the desert.
— Gerald Clark

Gerald Clark had the pleasure to play his Gibson amongst other Gibson lovers at the USA Gibson Party. Gerald was second to step on stage and he gave the crowd a taste of his new, original album. Ongx Mona also joined him in a powerful delivery of one if his new singles, Fire
